Manhattan's Best Sports Bars

by JoshMapfaced
Finding a place with a few (dozen) plasmas/projection sets to catch a game can be surprisingly difficult in Manhattan, especially if you're looking to take in some out-of-town action. Sure there are hundreds of bars with a single TV set tuned to one of that night's local games, but sometimes you need a truly great sports bar.

Standings is small. No way around that, so if you want to be sure you'll have a seat for a particular game, you definitely want to show up early. So what is the draw? A fantastic collection of beers, heavy on local and west coast micro brews. Standings might be the only bar in the city that aims to appeal to sports lovers who are also beer geeks. Unlike most sports bars, Standings doesn't serve food, but they'll be happy to show you some local menus to order delivery.

okay, but too pro-Yankee. Do we really need 80% of the TVs tuned to freaking Yankees when both home teams are playing?
